The 3-0 Kansas City Chiefs look to keep their 2013 record perfect against the struggling 0-3 New York Giants. The game kicks off at 1:00 PM Eastern Time in Kansas City, Missouri at the famous Arrowhead Stadium. The Chiefs are 2-0 versus the NFC East and look at handle yet another team from that division.
With arguably the best defense in the NFL, the Chiefs are up against what looks to be one of the weakest offensive lines in the league. Not to mention the numbers for actual offense are not looking good for the Giants anyway. With the secondary coverage Eric Berry and the boys are capable of Eli Manning will be about the only obstacle. I have a feeling Eli Manning will be keeping an eye out for a few Chiefs players, specifically Justin Houston. The Chiefs are number one in sacks so far this season with 15 total over three games and exactly half of those came at the hands of Houston. Getting to the quarterback seems to be Houston’s specialty, and if he doesn’t make it then Dantari Poe will definitely not be far behind.
Alex Smith is edging Manning with a 61% completion percentage and 0 turnovers. In fact, the Chiefs are one of the few teams in the NFL with no turnovers at all in their first three outings. Smith is proving to be the type of quarterback who takes care of the ball and makes good decisions when passing. He is completing over half of the passes he throws and has a definite threat with Donnie Avery on the receiving end. It is true that Smith doesn’t throw over 10 yards very often, but honestly, I’m happy with that as long as we are staying in the more wins than losses column. Look for some running game also with Jamaal Charles and newcomer Knile Davis giving some yards from the back field.
I hope everyone is as excited as I am about continuing this impressive start from the Chiefs. Lets get keep the winning going and keep our record perfect versus the NFC East. Look for a great game on Sunday as the Chiefs look to stay perfect at 4-0.
